Since 2008 violinist Marco Roosink is the senior manager with the international concert agency Netherlands Chamber Music Foundation and co-programmer of the KAM, Chamber Music Foundation Amsterdam. Between 1988 and 2012 he was a prolific professional musician with a considerable repertoire - consisting a.o of the complete traditional literature for piano trio, piano quartet and piano quintet.
Born in the Netherlands in 1969 in the old historic town of Kampen, at an early age he discovered his passion for classical music and playing the violin. Winning several major chamber music competitions whilst studying at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he continued his formal studies until 1994 with members of two internationally acclaimed string quartets: The Orlando Quartet and Borodin Quartet. Between 1992 and 1999 he extensively performed a wide range of chamber music repertoire in numerous concerts in The Netherlands and toured England, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and The Middle East. From 1999 he spent some years working and living in Asia, moving back to Amsterdam in 2001. Between 2005 and 2012 he was (founder) and member of Camerata Busoni, which performed regulary in The Netherlands in major concert series. Besides chamber music he nourishes an interest in literature, the Asian cuisine and contemporary language philosophy.
