Introduction...
Since 2008 Marco Roosink is associate artistic coordinator with the KAM, Amsterdam Chamber Music Foundation and artist manager of the Netherlands Chamber Music Foundation. His professional activities extend to performing with Camerata Busoni, celebrating chamber music concerts as a unique and rare* event.

Born in the Netherlands in 1969 in the old historic town of Kampen, at an early age he discovered his passion for classical music and playing the violin. Winning several major chamber music competitions whilst studying at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he continued his formal studies until 1994 with members of two internationally acclaimed string quartets: The Orlando Quartet and Borodin Quartet. Between 1992 and 1999 he extensively performed a wide range of chamber music repertoire in numerous concerts in The Netherlands and toured England, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and The Middle East. From 1999 he spent some years working and living in Asia, moving back to Amsterdam in 2001.

Besides chamber music he nourishes an interest in literature, the Asian cuisine and contemporary philosophy, Richard Rorty and Gilbert Ryle in particular. Marco Roosink lives in Amsterdam with his wife Jola and their cat Smoesjes.
